There was quite a thick layer of frost on the sand as I carried my kayak down the beach yesterday morning but with just a light northerly and not a cloud in the sky the sun soon sorted that out as it rose from behind the hills. It turned out to be a simply perfect mid-winter day.
Incidentally the name of the peninsula ‘Lizard’ is nothing to do with reptiles. It is instead a derivation from the Cornish “an Lysardh”, meaning “the high court” apparently.
Your femail fan base this end – Canada, Scotland, Sussex, Berkshire and god knows where – all believe you should write a book of your exploits. Seems silly to not do so, when most of it is already written

Hmmm, appreciate the thought… But I don’t consider anything I’ve done to be particularly remarkable is a problem, and then there’s the fact I wouldn’t know where to start or what spin to put on it… Perhaps you can help :-D
Looks great! Thx for sharing
More than welcome :-)
Tasty photos…we still have ice but it’s breaking up.
ah cool! Over here spring is definitely setting in… first mid-week evening surf of the year a couple of days ago.. it was just lovely, the sea is still ‘only’ 8 degs but there was no wind, the waves were around 2m and glassy and a hazy sun set to the west. Really good for getting rid of the last of the winter blues :-)
